Sometimes people come into your life for a season and others for a reason. Her name is Shelley on the SOS message board and we believe she came into the Sisters of Savings life for both. She is a wonderful woman and mother. She is motivator and a life changer. If you have the pleasure of meeting her your life will not be the same. I could say alot about her but I will let the other family members speak for me.
Here is the alert Shelley sent out Okay, Most of you know that I am an OLD SOS member! Faithful and true...... Some of you know that I have rental property and have had a time with one in particular renter. Heres where angels are needed:
I inspected the home earlier this month and found it in complete disarray. What bothered me more was the empty fridge, freezer and cabinets. This renter is a single parent with 3 growing children.
They are in need of everything! These children need to eat.....
If you can spare any of your stockpile...please PM me and I can give you the address. Thanks in advance because I live the SOS way and I know there are angels among us who will step up!
After Shelley;s post this is what happened,
Kasie took a 24 pack of Toliet paper,Tide, Clorox bleach, bounce, foil, foil wrappers, ziploc bags, mustard, ketchup, weisheisierrjekjfr LOL i dont know how to spell it, a BIG BIG box of goldfish crackers, cereals, pastas, spaghetti and Ragu, puddings, fruit snacks, razor, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bandaids, pasta in a box, man I cant remember it all i know there was more food. I couldn't leave like eggs and milk like i wished to because of the heat and she was working soooo.... there is a lot im not mentioning but those are what i remember. I made sure that she had OH pancake mixes and syrup, anyways I remebered there was things she could make meals out of or liek I sent PB and then had to make sure there was bread and Jelly. THings like that. I know I set her for a good while but ever bit helps I wish I could of gotten her a gift card or something but I don't even have a dime right now!!! But, Im sure she could use it all!!

Sisters, cabinets on 1/2 of her kitchen had nothing in them. BY the time all of the food was unloaded those cabinets were full!!!! And her canned food pantry was full stacked 2' high!!!!!
And, her tears, when Kasie gave her a special bag all for her own!!!
Hubby is saying he can't even see 10 bags of food gone from my house!!!!! I didn't make a real dent in my stockpile but it made someones month!!!!!
Blessings to all of the sisters who have given to shelters, family, groups!!!! That feeling that I have now in my heart and my throat are irreplaceable!!! God Bless you all!!!!!!

DALLAS - Christmas will not be so bleak, after all, thanks to strangers touched by a family's misfortune.
Wednesday, News 8 reported on a family whose Christmas presents had been stolen from underneath their tree. All that the thieves left were four boxes of popcorn. Glenda Bruce's children -- two of whom are mentally and physically challenged -- faced a holiday without gifts.
But Bruce's story resonated with North Texans, and just as in 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,' the thieves could not take away the spirit of the season.
"For someone to take somebody's Christmas like that... that's wrong," said Cheryl Jackson. "And there's somebody who can help, and I want to be that somebody."
Jackson said she has a heart for giving. Next month, she will launch her radio show called "The Giving Movement."
"I know so many people, and everybody has ten or so people in their circle," Jackson said. "Imagine if everybody gave just $50! You could change a life!"
And that's just what happened. Family and friends of Jackson started calling and donating. Dallas police received a bicycle and cash from strangers.
The Bruce family's luck changed.
"This will be something they'll tell their kids and their kids' kids. Then they'll teach them," Jackson said. "They'll move it forward and do it for somebody else."
At last check, more than $1,200 had been raised, and the family got to go on a new Christmas shopping spree.

My friend named Tri purchased 126 bottles of water for $5.16
Who says you can't get bottled water for almost FREE. My friend Tri who is a single parent, corporate guru and one that doesn't have time to shop or save money was at my house. I opened up a bottle of water and she liked them so she asked where did I get the water.
I told her Target and that we only paid .03 cents per bottle. She then became a believer in coupons and where or where can I get this coupon she asked. I gave Tri the information and when she saw me again she proudly talked about her shopping adventure where she bought 30 bottles of water for .90 cents.
It seems as though every day Tri was at the store, stockpiling the waters. She was so proud of herself and I was too. She donated 50 bottles of water to the youth group at our church on Saturday and all the kids consumed it like it was soda.
Now that the water is no longer on sale, the thrill is gone. What will Tri do? What will I do? The first thing I will do is hide my remaining bottles before my kids get to them. Gotta go. See you in the stores.

My grocery savings experience - You must not know bout me
Do you think a mother of two that runs a non-profit, is the PR for her church, a wife whose husband owns his own business and who has her own radio show has time to wash dishes?
Of course not. So thankfully my sister, Lynette was kind enough to give me a heads up on the sale of my favorite invention which is PAPER PLATES. She knows I am so busythat I live and die by the good old paper products.
I dread spending 2.19 for 50 plates that will literally go into the trash. So what did I do? I went to the store and purchased 2 packages of Hefty plates for .37 cents. The cashier Jenny was a newby and she was so proud of her new position. She was every bit of 4 feet 11 and she looked at me this 5'7 savings queen and with all of her new found wisdom she proudly said : YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE COUPON PER ORDER".
Keep in mind, it was 104 degrees outside and the heat was on. I was thinking to myself Lord have mercy.... she must not know bout me. So I put my 2 packages of plates on the counter and separated my 4 orders because I knew I wasn't coming back out to the store to do this transaction again. She looked at me and said " I can't do this" I can't use more than one coupon per ORDER. I asked, why no?t... and in my mind I was thinking this is only a test.... it will be over soon and she said "In my training class they told us we can't accept more than one coupon because there are some people whose grocery bill is like $ 300 but after coupons it is $80" and I looked, smiled and responded with these words " And what is the problem with that?"
As you know, I thought she was talking about me but when she said they only spend $80 I was thinking well, that's not the Sisters of Savings because our numbers are much better than that. So I kindly asked for a manager and I told the cashier go ahead and continue to ring me up until she gets over here. Needless to say, the new cashier didn't know what she was talking about. After the manager explained the policy to her she looked so confused and I felt so sorry for her.
So the morale of the story is to keep your cool even if the temparture is 104 degrees. Smile at the cashier (even though they don't know their policies and walk away with money that you don't have to spend because you are a smart educated Sister of Savings)
Total monies Ms. Jenny wanted me to spend $ 18.97 total money I really spent spent $ 3.00( because I knew better)

9 days later, what's in a name?
It's been a long week. I have been wrestling with the internet company to get our name back. Someone had hijacked the Sisters of savings website and my first thoughts was to let it go. I immediately bought sistersofsavings. org and said we will just forward the site there however something inside of me wouldn't let this go.
SOMEONE HAD TOOK MY NAME. So what's in a name? I never really thought about it until now, but nine days later or 12,960 minutes later I knew what my name meant and there were people all around me and my Sister that reminded us of who we are.
We are the Sisters of Savings. We don't give up or mess up but we stand up for what is true and our integrity means alot. Let me thank all of the family that rallied behind us to support our fight.
As I sat in bed last night I kept wondering why would anyone want our name but when I woke up this morning the answer was really clear. Our name symbolizes savings. But not just saving money, but saving families from hunger, saving people from being lonely (there are some awesome friendship that have developed on our board and most of all saving)
I am completely exhausted, the fight has worn me out but WE WON and tomorrow I promise I will begin to blog daily about what is happening in our world and I can't wait to see what will happening next.

It doesn't matter if you are black or white......
Okay family. I know many of you read the FREE poo post earlier today just as I did and were disappointed that you missed the sale so I decided nothing ventured, nothing gained. So off I went.. me and my binder to the 1st store and I went up and down the aisle until I saw her. Tthere she was all pretty as could be. What was it? I'm glad you asked?
It was the shampoo and conditioner STILL ON SALE Buy one Get one Free . OH my goodness... my heart began to beat so fast I thought I was the little drummer boy. I didn't know if I should run, laugh, or just plain Scream," I LOVE THE SISTERS OF SAVINGS" from the depth of my belly as loud as I could.
Then a manager walked over and said " Is there something I can help you with?" I looked at him with my BIG BRIGHT brown eyes and said... "Sir, you already have." I pulled out all 18 of the beautiful pink coupons that said Buy one get one free and I slowly place 36 VIVE shampoo and conditioners in my basket.
I was singing to myself that old Michael Jackson spiritual " It doesn't matter if you are black or white" that goes for the color of your skin or the color of the coupon. I kept thinking ANYONE can do this!!!then I raced over to those sponges and got those for free and of course I left with the scotch brite starter kit.
total receipt before coupons $183.10total due after coupons .06 centsthe manager just stood there like he had seen a ghost( I'm not sure why because I have done this type of transaction in his store before but, oh well)Then it happened, the unthinkable..... I went to the car and realized I had forgot to give him a .35 coupon how did that happen? Was it when I was watching that pretty scanner of his go down from 183.00 so fast a rabbit would have choked on his easter eggs lol so I guess they got me this time but there's always tomorrow. Hey I forgot I got the money back from the Alpo dog food so I WON didn't I?
Until Saturday!!! Go family GO!!! Of course I called my sister so I am sure she is out there doing the same thing right now and that's what this is all about.
